On August 15th, the Church turns its gaze heavenward to celebrate the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary — the moment when Mary, Mother of Jesus, was taken body and soul into Heaven’s glory.
It is not just a holy day; it is a statement of hope, a whisper from eternity that death is not the end for those who walk with Christ.
As the author of the Let God Speak series, I’ve always been drawn to moments where heaven and earth seem to touch. The Assumption is one of those moments, a meeting point between the promises of God and the destiny of humanity.
It tells us that what God did for Mary, He will also do for His people: raise them up, body and soul, into everlasting life.
This feast has deep roots.
From the earliest centuries, Christians believed that Mary’s body was not left in the grave but was glorified by God. In 1950, Pope Pius XII declared this ancient truth as dogma, confirming that it was not a new idea, but a belief cherished by the Church for nearly two millennia.
In my new permanent website page, I dive into:

The hope it offers in an uncertain world.
Theological insights connecting Mary’s glorification with the resurrection of Christ.
Rich traditions from Spain, Italy, Latin America, and beyond.
A personal reflection on how this feast echoes in my own life, including my connection to my twin soul brother, Darren.
I’ve also included a stunning original image of the Assumption, Mary rising to Heaven, surrounded by angels, bathed in radiant light, a visual prayer in itself.
