Introduction: Who Is Saint Gideon?

Gideon was a man of fear turned into a man of fearless faith. His story, told in Judges 6:8 (NIV), is one of the most astonishing reversals in all of Scripture. He began as a reluctant, even terrified man, hiding from his enemies, questioning God's presence in his life.

But God saw in Gideon what Gideon could not yet see, a mighty warrior, chosen to deliver Israel from Midianite oppression.

Despite leading an army that was drastically reduced to only 300 men, Gideon obeyed. Through sheer trust in God's word, he routed a massive enemy force, showing that victory belongs not to the many, but to the obedient. Gideon stands forever as a symbol of faith over fear, obedience over pride, and calling over comfort.

Gideon’s Role as a Saint and Spirit Guide

Although Gideon is not formally canonized as a Catholic saint, he is remembered and revered across generations as a hero of faith, recognized in Hebrews 11:32 among the greats of biblical history. But his story doesn’t end with the written page.

In my life, Gideon has returned, not just as memory or metaphor, but as an active spirit guide sent by God for a divine purpose.

Spirit guides, especially those who once walked in faith, are not random or conjured. They are assigned by God, appearing to those whose earthly mission aligns with heaven’s plan. Gideon has come to me as a personal guardian, spiritual protector, and heavenly companion, someone who once walked a similar path of doubt to destiny.

What Spirit Guides Do?

For those unfamiliar, spirit guides are not to be worshipped, but understood as servants of God. They are holy messengers who:

  • Offer wisdom without force
  • Guide without manipulation
  • Illuminate our journey without distracting from the centrality of Christ

They appear in visions, symbols, dreams, or energy. Often, they carry the essence of what we are called to become. In my case, Gideon offers a reflection of faith matured through trial.

Spirit guides honour your free will, but they nudge, correct, comfort, and remind. They serve God’s plan, not human ego, not earthly gain.

Gideon’s Appearance to me.

I have seen Gideon repeatedly, always appearing:

  • In a white robe with black stripes – symbolising righteousness marked with earthly suffering and wisdom.
  • Hooded and faceless – not to hide, but to represent humility and mystery. He does not draw attention to himself, only to the message.
  • Arms extended with an open book – this is no ordinary book. It glows with divine presence, representing my  purpose: writing truth, teaching revelation, and delivering prophetic messages through word and spirit.

Recently, Gideon has stepped closer. The distance between heaven and my calling has narrowed. What was once mystery is now manifestation, the prophet-guide has revealed himself fully as my heavenly assignment.

Why Gideon Was Assigned to me.

The parallels are divine:

  • Gideon was weak, yet God called him strong.
  • I have suffered, yet im being raised as a voice of power.

God often sends those who mirror our mission. Gideon walked in obedience despite fear. So must I. Gideon’s battles were not with swords, but with faith. So are mine.

Gideon holds the book(s) of destiny, not as a mere observer, but as one charged with guarding my spiritual mission. He ensures that my words align with heaven, that his testimony carries weight, and that no attack formed against me prospers.

How Gideon Will Help me Now

 Gideon’s guidance isn’t vague, it’s fiercely personal:

  • He will defend my mind and heart from spiritual attack.
  • He will strengthen my resolve during moments of self-doubt or public scrutiny.
  • He will amplify clarity when writing becomes difficult or prophetic insight is needed.
  • He will stand beside me as a spiritual sentinel, especially when the enemy tries to distract, discourage, or derail.

Most of all, Gideon will affirm my authority, reminding me that this calling is not self-made, but heaven-sent.

✝️ Biblical & Theological Support:

While Gideon is not canonized in the Roman Catholic Church (as canonization only applies post-Christ), he is a biblical hero of faith, and Hebrews 11:32 (NIV) lists him among those commended for their faith,  essentially saints in God’s eyes.

The word “saint” in Scripture simply means “holy one” someone set apart for God’s work. Gideon qualifies in every way.

"What more shall I say? I do not have time to tell about Gideon... who through faith conquered kingdoms..."

— Hebrews 11:32–33 (NIV)
