European Association of Biblical Studies (EABS) - Joining.
It is with great joy and a deep sense of purpose that I can now announce my membership of the European Association of Biblical Studies (EABS).
This marks a significant step forward in my journey of research, writing, and testimony, one that continues to be guided by faith, scholarship, and the extraordinary bond I share with my late twin brother, Darren John Chard.
About EABS
The European Association of Biblical Studies (EABS) is one of the leading platforms for academic study of the Bible and related texts. Bringing together scholars, researchers, and independent thinkers from across Europe and beyond, EABS is committed to:
Encouraging dialogue between established scholars and emerging voices.
Hosting annual conferences and seminars that shape the direction of biblical studies today.
Providing opportunities for publication and peer engagement.
Creating a supportive community where ideas are tested, refined, and shared.
EABS is not simply an academic organisation, it is a living community of inquiry, discovery, and exchange.
What This Means for My Journey
Becoming part of EABS is an honour. It provides me with:
A credible academic home for my research.
A platform to share my work on Genesis, Enoch, and Jubilees, as well as my very unique testimony of Darren’s ongoing presence.
The chance to participate in conferences and events, including the upcoming important gathering in Leuven, Flanders region of Belgium in 2026.
Access to potential publishing routes for peer-reviewed journals.
The possibility of collaboration and dialogue with others who may see the unique value of my work.
This step means far more than membership, it represents the opening of doors to conversations and opportunities that were previously out of reach.
The Roadmap Ahead
This new chapter with EABS strengthens the foundation for the path ahead. My roadmap now includes:
Phase 1 - 2025
Consolidating Research - continuing to refine and expand the three papers already published on Humanities Commons, shortly to published on Social Science Research Network and awaiting peer review.
Engagement with EABS – taking part in discussions, contributing ideas, and listening to others as I prepare for Leuven and beyond.
Phase 2 - 2025 to early 2026
Publication Goals – submitting my work for peer review under the EABS framework, ensuring it reaches a wider scholarly audience.
Conference Presentation – aiming to present at future EABS conferences (initially Leuven 2026 and beyond), sharing both theological research and the testimony of Darren’s manifestations.
5. Collaboration & Support – building connections that could, in time, lead to collaborative projects or even research funding.
Phase 3 - Mid 2026 to 2027
If the papers successfully gain traction, considering collaborative research projects, leading to funding and or sponsorship.
Position my work as a unique bridge between theology, spirituality, and science.
Phase 4 – (Beyond 2027)
Breakthrough
A potential book or edited volume with academic backing.
Increased recognition within theological circles.
Opportunities to contribute to wider conversations on life, death, and the afterlife.
The journey is ongoing, and the road ahead is both demanding and inspiring.
With faith as my compass, Darren as my companion in spirit, and Christ at the very centre, I believe we are moving towards something extraordinary.
A Living Journal
This page will serve as a living journal of my EABS journey. Updates will be added as milestones unfold, allowing friends, readers, and fellow seekers to follow the story in real time.
This is not just about me, it is about the light of Christ, the rare gift of Darren’s continued presence, and the doors that are beginning to open.
